Industrial Solutions

Carpet Backing
Primary and Secondary Carpet backing is utilized in the manufacturing of carpets. Carpet backing systems generally comprise a primary backing and a chemical adhesive. Frequently, a secondary backing is included. In the most common system, the yarn is secured into the primary backing by synthetic latex, and a secondary backing (or cushion) is attached with a bonding agent or adhesive to provide further pile-yarn stability and to add dimensional stability to the carpet structure.
Applications include: Primary carpet backing, secondary carpet backing.
Cement Reinforcement
There is a growing need for the use of woven textiles in the reinforcement of concrete and cement structures. The use for this purpose is increasing in modern day applications as structures become more abstract and bespoke. A combination of modern materials and textile technology has led to increased variability of application. The use of our woven reinforcement in construction of pillars and road guards, as well as use in pottery and several other specialised applications has assisted in development of products that can better withstand vibrations and sudden jerks.
Applications include: Pillars, concrete pipes, road guards, pottery and several other specialised applications.
Industrial Webbing
Webbing, also known as narrow fabric, is a robust woven textile manufactured by Spilo for use in multiple industries. It is an incredibly versatile product which can replace steel wire, rope or chain in industrial, as well as non-industrial, applications. Spilo produces webbing in multiple widths and with various tonnage capabilities.
Applications include: material bag handles, load straps, tie-downs, safety straps, general construction, shaping and reinforcing of all sling and bulk bags.
